The Auctus Platform MVP is Live!
Introducing our alpha on testnet
We are very proud of our development team and of our latest development milestone: the first version of our platform is live on the Ethereum Rinkeby test network at https://platform.auctus.org/.
For those who don’t know us, Auctus is a smart contract-powered retirement planning platform that allows you to create personalized portfolios consisting of traditional assets and cryptocurrencies. The platform furthermore provides human and robo advisory to set the right saving strategy and target. This first release of the platform showcases the decentralized marketplace and the result-oriented fee structure of the platform.
Please note that the current version of the Auctus Platform is intended for testing only. The portfolio recommendations are for simulation only and should not be treated as investment advice. All transactions in the current version are using the Ethereum Rinkeby testnet.
How to check it out
The first thing you need, in order to try our platform, is to have MetaMask installed. Please note that the current version is not available on mobile.
MetaMask is an extension that allows you to run Ethereum dApps right in your browser without running a full Ethereum node, available for Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Brave.
If you already have it installed, just make sure to switch it to testnet, which is the step 2:
Once you have MetaMask installed and unlocked on Rinkeby Testnet, you are almost good to go. You will need AUC tokens to try the platform. We have created a faucet and added it to the landing page of the platform, so everything you will need to do to get your first test AUC tokens is click the button as illustrated below. You will receive 0.02 ETH and 2000 AUC on wallet selected on Metamask. In this version, users will only need to hold AUC in their wallets to access the platform. In the full platform, users will also need to transfer tokens to an escrow smart contract where they will be locked for a period of time.
The next step is to create an account choosing a username, email and password, and start using the platform!
Features
In the platform, you can choose between portfolio recommendations created by the community in the human advisory marketplace, or be assisted by a robo advisor which will recommend you a tailored portfolio based on your goals and profile.
After following the steps to define your goals, how much you can invest and the risk you are willing to take, you can use the test AUC tokens you got from our faucet to purchase a portfolio recommendation.
You can check the portfolio’s projection prior to deciding to purchase it. When you make a decision, you can use or test AUC tokens and make a transaction through MetaMask.
As previously explained in our token model, when you make a transaction to purchase a portfolio recommendation the AUC tokens are not immediately transferred to the advisor. When the user makes a transaction, AUC tokens corresponding to the price for the entire chosen period are transferred to an escrow smart contract. After the end of that period, tokens can be redeemed by the user in case the results don’t meet the projection. In case it was a good recommendation the advisor can get the tokens.

Smart contracts
The smart contracts used in this version have some functions and behaviors that will only exist on testnet, such as the mint function that is called every time a new user gets tokens from the faucet, issuing tokens with an unlimited supply. In addition, to make it easier to use, the portfolio creation currently doesn’t generate a transaction on the blockchain and the recommended portfolios are not recorded on smart contracts, this feature will be added in one of the next releases.
Developers can take a look at the solidity implementation of the test AUC token and the simplified purchase smart contract.
Next steps
There is still a lot to do in terms of development! Before moving to themain net with the beta release, our plans regarding the alpha promotion and evolution include the following:
- Adjustments and improvements based on the feedback from the community;
- Gamification (tournament for advisors);
- Mobile version;
- Integrate with other platforms on alpha stage that have some kind of synergy with Auctus.
